When a child is born, they use their senses to discover the world around them, these senses include smell, sound, sight, taste and touch. This is usually the reason why parents must keep both eyes on their kids 24/7, as we normally find babies and toddlers trying to put everything into their mouths; this is only because they are trying to explore everything around them!
What is Sensory Play? Sensory Play are activities which help stimulate the senses. Such activities promote and naturally encourage children with autism to play, create, investigate and explore all whilst they use scientific processes during these activities which help them develop such things like:
Sensory Play is perfect for helping children understand and develop their understanding of sensory information, therefore, increasing and creating stronger connections in the brain. By allowing children to partake in activities which are varied, fun and exciting this will grant autistic children the opportunity to expand on their understanding of their senses and take control of their own sensory experiences. Activities for Autism and how Zimpli can help So, we bet you’re wondering why we’ve been rambling on about Sensory Play, when you want to hear about how Zimpli Kids products can help instead? Well, we have you covered with a super fun variety of activities that are perfect for autism and sensory play.
What do Parents think? On a daily basis, we reach out to many influencers to review our products and we ask them to give us honest opinions about our Gelli and Slime. We’ve recently started reaching out to more parents who are struggling to find activities which will help their child with autism. Here is what a couple of them had to say: Zimpli Kids is a UK-based company that specializes in sensory play products. Their flagship products are Slime Baff and Gelli Baff, which transform ordinary water into a thick slime and goo, respectively. They both provide for really unique textures. “ My 6 year old on the other hand was not sure and certainly not keen on the idea of jumping in like his brother. He struggles with new things as he needs processing time and the idea that you can have a green bath was new to him. We put some of the Slime Baff in the sink for him to play with and get used to the texture first. After about 10 minutes he joined his brother in the bath.” Faye is a real sensory seeker; she seeks out sensory feedback constantly. We plan lots of sensory time into our day to day activities to meets Faye’s sensory needs. Faye spent a long time playing with the slime, adding in some bath toys halfway through her bath. Faye particularly enjoyed letting the slime drip through her bath net.” We believe that in today’s modern world everyone should be doing their best to help save the environment one tiny step at a time. At Zimpli Kids being green is very important to us and we believe that creating a fully eco-friendly range is the new frontier to making those small steps which will eventually help to save our planet.
Eco-Friendly Toys Today most retailers and manufacturers are guilty of majorly misusing plastic materials by ‘over sizing’ and ‘overusing’ plastic packaging due to the easy accessibility of it. Due to the many years of overusing plastic materials it has had a massive effect on many businesses carbon footprints and the pollution of plastic materials being dumped into landfills, rivers and oceans causing nano and micro plastics to damage our wildlife. It is imperative that we imprint an example onto the next generation of how crucial it is not to misuse plastic materials! More and more companies and parents alike are starting to understand the importance of this issue and are realising the fact that, ‘Plastic is not fantastic’, and that other materials can be used. We are determined to make a difference and save the planet one Gelli Baff at a time by becoming more and more driven to do our part in saving the environment! All of our packaging is 100% recyclable, made from recycled board and all our powders are certified biodegradable.
Super Cool Eco-Friendly Play If you love our products and love being eco-friendly, then you can get your hands on our Eco Range very soon (Keep an eye out)!

Gelli and slime provide the perfect base for your child’s imagination to run wild and develop their creativity. Why not give them a go…
“This Slime Baff must be the most popular sensory play invitation we’ve had ALL year! I set up an ocean themed tuff tray with the slime, sand and shells which has encouraged lots of mixing and Physical Development Sensory play is really important for developing children’s physical skills as most activities require multiple muscles to work together. Especially with our products, children reinforce and practice their small motor skills while pouring water, measuring powder, stirring and manipulating the goo or slime. They learn to control and give their bodies directions to accomplish tasks as they explore the new, unique texture. “This was actually the first time we had explored Gelli and Little was amazed, diving her hands straight in to explore! Little did lots of scooping and pouring, filling, used her imagination to bake a cake and make a smoothie and had lots of fun as the cups slipped and slid everywhere!” Should you start integrating sensory play into your child’s everyday life? Of course! Sensory, Messy, tactile play are popular phrases at the moment and it will only increase as more research highlights the importance further.
