Spooky Halloween Sensory Activities with Zimpli Kids

So, it’s only September, but that won’t stop us from getting preparations for Halloween up and running! Halloween has always been an exciting time for us at Zimpli Kids’ HQ, as Halloween is well and truly the start of the end of year festivities and we just can’t get enough!
Even though Halloween will feel stranger than usual this year – as the UK will most likely be in lockdown and we won’t be hearing any knocks on the door from cheeky trick or treaters; that hasn’t stopped us to create some super spooky and scare-tastic games and activities which will keep your family and little ones busy during this year’s Spooky Season!

So, the Zimpli crew have put their heads together and have gathered and developed lots of ideas on how you can make Halloween fun this year without trick or treating!

But don’t turn and run even though you want to scream with all your might,

SUPER-DUPER SPOOKY-SCARY SENSORY PLAY IDEAS:

A Skeletons Blood Baff
Here’s what you’ll need:

Slime Baff or Slime Play Red
A bowl or a bathtub
Fake Spiders
Fake Skeletons or Skulls

How you can make it:

Grab your bowl and fill it up with water and your Red Slime Baff.
Once mixed to a gooey consistency add your fake spiders and skulls

A Poorly Pumpkins Worst Nightmare
Here’s what you’ll need:

A Pumpkin or two (you’ll want to keep the inners of the pumpkin to make the sick more realistic)
Slime Baff or Slime Play Green
A tray
Candles

How you can make it:

Scoop open a pumpkin (Taking the insides out making sure to leave them to one side)
Carve a face into the pumpkin
Mix some green slime with the pips of the insides of the pumpkin
Make sure to put a tray under the pumpkin.
Pour the slime into the top of the pumpkin and watch it barf! EWWWW

A Bewitching Cauldron not made for the Faint of Heart
Here’s what you’ll need:

Gelli Baff or Gelli Play (in whichever colour you prefer)
A Cauldron (or if you can’t find one just use a BIG bowl or a bucket)
Leftover pumpkin guts from the activities above
Fake webs & spiders
Fake eyeballs
Also, for some pop, crackle and whizz using some of our pop-tastic Crackle Baff Colours, for the ultimate potion, ready to cast a spell!

Apple Bobbing at your own Risk!
Here’s what you’ll need:

Slime Baff (in whichever colour you prefer)
Apples
Googly Eyes
Fake bugs
Fake spiders

How you can make it:

Grab a tray and add in your water with Gelli or Slime
Add apples and plastic gools into the mixture
Take it in turns to try and grab the apple! The first person to get the most wins!

Trick or Treat Dig and Win Challenge
Here’s what you’ll need:

A BIG bowl (or you could use your sink!)
Gelli Baff or Gelli Play in Green or Orange
Fake bugs & spiders
Sweets & Candy
Blindfold

Make it into a game and time each other!

Snot Filled Feely Bag
Here’s what you’ll need:

Slime Play or Gelli Play Green
Sealable Bags (which won’t leak)
Googly Eyes
Fake eyeballs
Any other creepy crawlies you would like to include!

How to make it:

Get a sealable bag and carefully pour a little bit of slime into it, then add all the extra bits!
This is a great idea for sensory play for all ages!

Bath time fun for children with Eczema and Psoriasis!

Ever since the first box of Gelli Baff was sold over 10 years ago, we have received hundreds of extremely positive reviews from happy parents whose children have minor to severe skin conditions like Eczema and Psoriasis.

At first, this came as a shock to us as it was never our first intention to create a product which would help soothe and relieve the irritation of dry, itchy skin. However, over time we have slowly started to realise how much of a positive effect our Gelli Baff is having on children with such skin conditions.

So, today we are making it one of our main priorities to spread the word to more parents and make them aware that they shouldn’t be afraid of trying out our products even though they worry about which products could or couldn’t trigger an outbreak.

Even though our products are vibrant and flamboyant, with a variety of sensory elements from scents to bright colours; they may scream to parents “Eczema outbreak waiting to happen!”, there’s absolutely nothing to worry about as our products do so much more than provide endless hours of safe fun.

However, if that’s not enough to ease your worrying here are a few reviews given to us by parents whose children have eczema:

A kids dream a goo bath… As well as sensory play this product appeals to us mainly for its help towards tackling Eczema prone skin.

Charlie is terrible for dry itchy patches across his body, so what better way than to play and treat his skin at the same time.
After a few more baths I’ll have to update you all, hopefully his usual itchy red patches have gone down!

Zimpli Kids gifted us with their Gelli Play & Gelli Baff. J absolutely loved it!!

One thing we noticed is that his everyday eczema on his ankles seemed a lot softer.

It’s usually the opposite when he comes into contact with water”.

Arabella had so much fun playing in her Gelli Baff from Zimpli Kids.

She loves baths anyway and this one was extra fun! It’s great for sensory play and some Mums have reported that it’s also helped babies with eczema so it’s perfect for Arabella as she suffers on and off.
